Respite care can provide temporary relief from the physical and emotional demands involved with caring for a family member who has a developmental disability. Respite creates opportunities for all family members to live actively and participate in the community, providing parents/guardians and caregivers with time for themselves. The Family Resources Team can assist with the co-ordination and funding of respite care.
